Script is an editorial magazine that examines how script typefaces have been gendered and culturally associated with femininity. Art-directed, edited, designed, and written by me, the publication traces the history and defining characteristics of script typography while questioning the social meanings embedded within its use. The visual system draws from the fluidity, elegance, and expressiveness of script letterforms, presenting typographic research in an engaging format that reflects the subject itself. The project explores editorial design as a way to make design history and critical discourse both accessible and visually compelling.
